Review of The Apartment (1960) by Joe S — 23 Nov 2008
Now this is the way to do Rom-Coms. Nearly 50 years old and still hasn't lost any of it's sparkle. Jack Lemmon is fantastic as the put upon office employee, trying to work his way to the top by loaning his apartment to his bosses for their affairs.
It works and he finds himself moving up in the company. But problems ensue when the girl he loves, A stunning Shirley MacLaine, turns out to be the mistress of the number one boss. Who also wants his Apartment for his fling.
... Things get very complicated, but it all turns out for the best in the end. A true classic that I highly recommend to anybody.
