Review of The Apartment (1960) by Geoff C — 11 Feb 2010
When I watch this, I have the knowlege that nothing is liked by everyone. That being said, it makes me wonder how anybody can not like Jack Lemmon. The man was a national treasure. The same goes with Shirely MacClaine in this. She was absolutely delightful, even if her character was a bit pathetic at times.
Fred MacMurray is the ultimate user of not just women, but people in general. You have to give a lot of credit to his performance, because it must be so difficult being so charming, and dis-likable.
As far as the plot in general goes, it is fantastic. I will elaborate on this later on-.
