Review of The Apartment (1960) by Ashley T — 13 Jun 2010
Jack Lemmon is fantastic in this classic, delivering a performance full of nuance. While it has it's moments, the movie is much more dramatic than I expected. I was also surprised at how faithful the stage adaptation is, which I saw just a few weeks ago in New York.
The live version has a fair bit more humour, as well as character depth, not to mention music and colour. But the story it's based on is solid and definitely worth the time if you can't make it to Broadway.
