Review of The Apartment (1960) by Chris L — 12 May 2012
It's an everyday, heartfelt Hollywood romance presented with a surprising amount of sadness. The characters are all suffering with isolation in some form or another and the cinematography echoes that with shots of endless workspaces and long, empty New York streets.
The subject matter makes the love story more effective as it's not Hollywood-made archetypes you're seeing; it's lonely, everyday people such as yourself.
