Tragic melancholy with a dash of comedy, this movie is about a man who rents out his apartment to his higher-ups as a low-key hideaway for private love affairs as a means to ease his way up in the office ranks.
He becomes infatuated with one of these mistresses, and drama ensues. Jack Lemmon plays a hilarious role as the tenant of this apartment in this classic Billy Wilder film.
