Review of The Angry Red Planet (1959) by Harriet M — 15 Feb 2012
A returning space probe said to have been lost after landing on Mars has it's crew questioned on what happened on the red planet. Iris Ryan being the only survivor who is lucid, other than the colonel who is in a coma with a amoeba growing from his arm, is able to recall the tragic events that unfolded while on Mars which cost the lives of two other crew members. What she recalls is rather frightening: an amoeba-like creature, a rat-bat-spider hybrid and a venus fly trap hybrid.
The big highlight from this little midnight sci/fi flick is, of course, the rat-bat-spider hybrid which looked particularly awesome considering how cheesey it might be today. Best viewed at midnight.
