Review of The Angry Birds Movie (2016) by Olli H — 26 May 2016
Based on the popular mobile game about angry birds who use a giant slingshot to shoot themselves on the evil green pigs. That's the movie right there, well most of it. Obvious dramatics are added here with basic themes of loneliness, friendship, xenophobia (just a little) and the usual from-zero-to-hero storyline.
The comedy comes mainly in physical form but some lines are there just for the adults, for example a certain "The Shining" reference was surprisingly hilarious. Overall it was good fun for kids, mediocre fun for adults but I only paid for this because I promised my nephew I would take to him to see this and for that fact it shall remain in my memory; being the first movie I saw in the movie theaters with my nephew.
