The Angry Birds Movie is an unsatisfying animated film. I liked the voice cast in the film. Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride were good as the three leads. The animation is nice to look at. The film moves at a fast pace.
Little kids will be satisfied by this. But the adults are out of luck. The jokes are dumb and unfunny. I laughed once, but that's it. Also, the film lacks a heart. The jokes are usually mean-spirited.
With such higher quality animated films out there, there are higher standards with these types of movie. The plot is fine, but nothing in the movie truly stands out. Overall, this isn't the worst video game movie out there.
For a movie based on an app, it could've been a lot worse. Still, the lazy jokes and lack of heart prevent it from standing out.
