Review of The American President (1995) by Bill S — 23 Feb 2015
This movie is idealistic, romantic, and reminiscent of a different time where the President could give a rousing speech in front of an awed, unjaded press core. So maybe it's sappy naval-gazing, and sure maybe it pissed off a ton of Republicans when he talked about taking away their assault rifles, but this movie is a world that doesn't worry about that.
That's after all what we go to the movies for: escapism.
