This is one of those movies that when I catch it on tv, I can't NOT watch. I just love it. I think it's idealistic and naive, but in a way that's reminiscent of the time it was made. It reflects the hope for politics, not the cynicism you find in most political-based movies.
I just adore Annette Benning in it. Besides, it's a romance, not a political documentary - so it's allowed to be a bit unrealistic.
