Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Logan A — 10 Feb 2015
I don't know how people enjoyed it. To me, this was just a movie to set up the next one. And if that's what you are trying to do, you've got it all wrong.
There are great things in this movie. Such as, the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. They did great in the movie. And so did Dane DeHaan. And Sally Field did good in a small role. I also loved the score of the movie. And also, the visual effects were awesome!
There are also bad things in this movie. Such as, villain development. There was absolutely none for Aleksei/Rhino, The turning from good to bad for Max Dillon/Electro was rushed, and Green Goblin was completely rushed. Also Green Goblin basically knew how to use the suit as soon as he put it on. It made no sense.
More bad stuff includes the German doctor Kafka, and the OsCorp executive, who didn't need to be in the movie. Also there is no official tone in the movie. It goes from light to dark to light back to dark. That was annoying because it seemed like it didn't know what kind of movie it wanted to be.
This movie wasn't as bad as Spider-Man 3, but it is close.
