I agree that the plot involves too many characters and its too crowded. But regardless of that, this movie feels like a direct interpretation of the life of Peter Parker. If I had to decide, I wouldn't have introduced Donald Menken, Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn or Aleksei Sytsevich just yet.

In my version of the film, Peter would still face Electro, but also comes across Felicia Hardy as the Black Cat after Gwen leaves for England. My ending would've involved Peter getting into depression because Gwen left him for her scholarship at Oxford.

But then Felicia comes and comforts him, the beginning of a new bond/relationship. This would lead into The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Where Gwen returns to NY. And then the whole Norman Osborn dying, Harry Osborn as Green Goblin thing would occur, resulting in Gwen's death.

The Amazing Spider-Man 4 would've set up the Sinister Six film, with Peter investigating the disappearances of the Sinister Six characters before the group was formed. Peter would then have to fight off threats from Oscorp's spider slayers with the help of Black Cat.

Overall, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was great and I am devastated that Sony made a deal with Marvel. No more Garfield, no more Sally Field, no more Emma Stone, no more Felicity Jones.... Sony sucks.
