Review of The Air I Breathe (2007) by Desmond A — 24 Jun 2009
An interesting concept: show how four separate lives can embody the four emotions of chinese proverb, intertwine these four lives, film. Unfortunately, it fell a bit flat. It seemed to rely too much on facial recognition with the big name stars (which is why I tend to prefer movies starring relative unknowns) than on actual emotion connections with the characters; while some movies can get away with this, one founded solely on emotion cannot.
A few great moments, the use of flashback and repetition was especially stunning, but other than that, nothing special.
