I am a huge fan of Martin Scorsese and an admirer of all the main actors - Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder (especially), Richard E Grant - but somehow this didn't work for me. Maybe I'm just not into period pieces - all those poncy accents and prissy mannerisms - or I just wasn't in the right mood, but I simply found this boring.
