Review of The Age of Innocence (1993) by Hedy F — 06 May 2011
This heartfelt movie is an unusual but beautiful movie from Martin Scorcese, where convention and rules stand in the way of love, and new york socialites are almost as evil as the mob, instead of guns they use gossip.
Day Lewis and Pfeiffer are great as the doomed couple and Ryder gives one of her best performances by doing almost nothing but beeing nice and sweet in a very calculated way sometimes, with a great cast The Age Of Innocence is an outstanding and visually impressive movie, with it's lavish set decoration and Scorcese's eyes for beautiful images.
