An unlikely film from Scorsese, The Age of Innocence is well shot and the director is able to capture the atmosphere of the period along with some fine makeup work and costumes, however, it's story is nothing out of ordinary. Daniel Day-Lewis and Michelle Pfeiffer gives good performances while I believe that Winona Ryder is mostly overrated in this film (she was good, but not better than the other two).
