Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Gabriel H — 14 May 2015
Age of Adaline. I watched this instead of Mad Max. For some reason.... But don't get me wrong, this is NOT a bad movie, it is just not great as well. Right off the bat, you get bored in this film. You really don't care about the exposition and you kind of care about the romance that is going on between Blake Lively and Michael... whatever his name is. The movie is like that for about ann hour. But then Harrison Ford comes along. He literally SAVED this movie, as it would have been A LOT worse without him. His performance was incredible, as I was really not expecting to see Harrison Ford so good in the movie. Makes you think how good of an actor he is, what a career he has had, and how the hell the world would have moved on if something had happened to him in that plane crash. Still on the positive, the score of the film is great, and the cinematography is magnificent. The film is shot so beautifully, so props to the cinematographer. The explanation of how Adaline can't age is a little whacky though, but the film still ended on a high note.
Overall: Adaline is not the greatest movie, but it is still enjoable for a film mostly made for women.
Rating: 66% and a C+.
