Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Greg P — 24 Jun 2015
For a chick-flick this was a pretty enjoyable movie. I really enjoy seeing Harrison Ford act and he doesn't disappoint in this film either. The basic premise is rather cheesy and in many ways interferes with the whole happily ever after concept that is the core of these types of movies.
There are simply too many complicated relationship issues that result from Adaline's long life and her ties with the other characters that prevent a viewer from having that closure. My wife and I left the theatre thinking about "well, how would X work" and "what about issue Y", not about how happy we're were that things worked out for the characters.
The core of the movie was enjoyable however.
