The best of Hepburn's 'spinster' roles pairs her with the great Humphrey Bogart, in their one and only film together.

Lucky for them and us, it turned out to be a bloody good one.

One of my favorite films, this is just perfect. The two of them. In a boat. That's it. Prim Rose Sayer. Drunkard Charlie Allnut.

Brilliant.

I recommend also reading the book by C.S. Forrester.

It's a great book.

And also, if you can find it, read Hepburn's autobiographical account of the making of the film... "The Making Of The African Queen or How I went To Africa With Bogart, Bacall and Huston and Nearly Lost My Mind".
