Review of The African Queen (1952) by Pamela D — 29 Mar 2009
It wasn't the greatest for me although seeing Bogie and Katie together...Hollywood's legends was awesome. I thought Bogart overshadowed Katherine...she seemed "stiff" at first and then some parts she softened up and you really believed in what she was saying or feeling.
The film showcased an adventure in Africa and falling in love with your opposite. The characters fought through the forces of nature and worked well as a team. I just thought the ending was rushed and left no impression on me.
For some reason, the film's quality...some parts of the film...looked like it was ahead of its time (60s, 70s).
