Review of The African Queen (1952) by Ricky C — 10 May 2011
To put it simply, a classic. The mixture of adventure, comedy, and romance was brilliant. I loved the character development, and the chemistry between Bogart and Hepburn is untouchable. To see Bogart go from a unshaven gin drinking chimp to a completely changed, married man at the end of the film was very satisfying.
I also loved the setting and use of color. The bright and beautiful technicolor really helped show off the great setting and the fact that they were actually in Africa.
