Review of The African Queen (1952) by Kisaan T — 30 Jun 2012
African Queen is a movie which is just a joyful experience. It is the movie far from the hands of grim drama and near to the hands of comedy and happy romance. It even gives a tingling of adventure and thrill - though not technologically poured like today's films, which made me realized how much it would have thrilled to the ones who must have watched it inside the cinema hall, in 1951.
I felt, African Queen as an easy movie, because you don't get to see any hard sequences in the film, which may drift our minds out of its jolly atmosphere. Bogart becomes convincing and amusing as a drinker, cocky sailor, Charlie, no doubt he won an Oscar, and Hepburn as a slightly conserved, mature lady.
