Review of The African Queen (1952) by John W — 19 Oct 2014
One of the great adventure stories is told beautifully by director John Huston, with Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn forming an unlikely partnership to sink a German warship in Africa during WWI.
The plot, though, is secondary to the pure joy of watching these two giants work together at the top of their game. Jack Cardiff's Technicolor cinematography is breathtaking.
