Review of The Adventures of Milo and Otis (1986) by Richard R — 10 Sep 2008
This is the kids movie you watch if you're badass and cool. Seriously, I still can watch this film and think it's awesome. That's something rare in kid's movies today. This movie is straight out of an era before film-makers realized that children generally don't have much of a discerning eye and thus can be given bad plot lines, simplistic and asinine drivel, and poor quality films just because they're naive.
Come on, that cat and that dog share a genuine connection. It's commentary outlining the progression of anyone's friendship and life throughout an entire lifetime. What a great microcosmic, symbolic film that comes from the heart.
Plus Dudley Moore's pretty cool.
