Review of The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland (1999) by Christine C — 30 Apr 2008
Saw this at the weekend and the person I watched it with liked it so much we watched it twice.
Renegade CIA agent Elmo, breaks out of a North Korean prison and after a rift with his friend Zoe, finds himself on an undercover mission to retrieve his fuzzy blue blanket from villainous meglomaniac Huxlety whilst simultaneously reinstating regime change in Grouchland.
This should have an 18 cert for scenes depicting the blanket bombing of Grouchland villages and for explicit scenes between Elmo and the Queen of Trash.
Excellent original score and cinematography and important lessons about the importance of sharing and increasing democratic participation in rogue states.
