Terry Gilliam's Grand Folly, the film that almost killed his career as a director, (and he's had a few), but this is one of his finest films. This is set in the late 18th Century, and has the titular Baron Munchausen (John Neville), attempting to sav.
..(read more) e a war-torn town by gathering up his old gang, which involves going to the moon, entering the bowels of Mount Etna. and going through the centre of the Earth. An absolutely brilliant film, one of the most visually beautiful films ever made, and one of Gilliam's very, very best films.
With some of the best characters committed to film, such as Oliver Reed as a God with a Yorkshire accent and Robin Williams laughing his head off!! Simply impossible to forget!!
