Cheesy effects, stereotypical roles (i.e. the redneck, the black cop, the nice girl, the altruistic man and the evil aliens with the requisite i'm-having-second-thoughts-about-this-takeover lead alien 'scientist' spouting lines like "Of course! You have love! Our mind control is too weak to enslave you permanently!").

That being said, not a completely awful way to spend an hour and a half with a bowl of popcorn.
