A less elaborated version of The Matrix, that is the first thought I have after watching The Adjustment Bureau. Here instead "The Oracle" we have "The Chancellor", different names, same purpose, trying to control humanity so things go according to the plan.

Emily Blunt is sweet and funny, if you like her in one movie, you will like her in all the ones that she's in. Matt Damon is as convincing as he always is in his roles.

The story basically revolves around the senate candidate David Norris (Damon) who loses his first election at the same time that he meets a rather unusual women (Blunt) in the men's room. This first encounter is intense and sweeps him off of his feet.

Chance make them met again but the agents from the Adjustment Bureau have to keep them separated because their relationship is not on the chancellor's plan. The agents are a sort of angels who are on the planet to make sure that everything happens according to the plan (you can call it divine, if you must).

It's not a romance, it's not a thriller, but is worth watching if you believe in fate, or even if you don't. As you see on the film, fate tends to change, either by you or by the guys upstairs.

Special feature to Anthony Mackie as Harry Mitchell, the agent with a heart and challenging a attitude towards what is already written on the stars.
