Review of The Adjustment Bureau (2011) by Guido S — 28 Jan 2014
Matt Damon is an up and coming politician who meets Emily Blunt in the restroom while she is trying to crash a wedding. They leave a positive impression on each other and one day by accident they meet again on a bus and exchange numbers.
This sets into events the the protectors of The Plan to ensure things go according to how they were intended. Kind of like Fringe, these people wear hats and suits and ensure everything goes as they intend.
Based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, this feels just like that. It could have expanded upon the free will vs fate theme much more, but instead, really only does just the bare minimum. It really doesn't quite pick up until the last 20 or so minutes, where everything before is just a series of events to set that into motion.
It's ok, could have been so much more, but I enjoyed it for what it could have been.
