Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Maitiú Ó — 14 Jan 2014
In Indonesia there are men like these that are celebrated, gangsters and para-military leaders who killed millions of people (communists, though I would believe that the majority of them wouldn't know a communist really is) with full government backing.
The film makers let them recreate these murders in their own way, at times it can be quite disturbing, their stories are blunt and graphic with hardly any remorse. It's hard to watch even when leaders amongst the Indonesian government give them all the blessing and gratitude, treated like heroes A must see.
