Review of The Accidental Tourist (1988) by David S — 09 Aug 2009
I liked William Hurt's lowkey performance. I liked William Hurt's dog. I liked his weird family. I liked Kathleen Turner. I liked Bill Pullman. I have a problem with Geena Davis. It has more to do with the writing than her performance.
She's merely a catalyst for William Hurt's character transformation. There's nothing going on under the hood. It's another case of manic pixie dream girls-gone-wild, and it's a shame.
This movie has a lot in its favor.
