If you can stand the unbelievably horrible first hour of the film, you will eventually be blessed by one of the most visionary and most creative ideas I've seen. The last 30 minutes are pure awesomeness and rank among the best sci-fi moments of movie history - alongside 2001, Blade Runner or Minority Report.
As a whole, the movie is only mediocre, because the first half of the movie destroys the entire mythology. But it's worth watching only for the impressive twist towards the end!
