Review of The Abyss (1989) by Bradley W — 30 Jun 2012
The Abyss is a science fiction film from James Cameron, and this visionary director had created a milestone for special effects with this film. The movie is big and exciting, the characters are interesting, the story was a bit slow but really picks up after a while, and the special effects are great.
The cast was good, but Ed Harris's performance was simply incredible and really drives the film with such a fun performance. The special effects really were beautiful and even by todays standards they are amazing.
The Abyss is not James Cameron's best film, but its definently one of the great films that has turned him into such a brilliant director.
