Review of The Abyss (1989) by Brian N — 07 Jul 2012
This is another film I hadn't seen in years and after watching it, I have to ask myself how I couldn't have. This film is simply amazing, everyone should see it. This film, though box office failure, was the movie James Cameron made between Aliens and Terminator 2.
You can see the roots of the liquid metal in T2 and the roots of Titanic. This is such a story orientated film with amazing action sequences all very well thought out and it always keeps you t the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.
The acting is great, the directing is great, the visuals are great, just an all out great film. Every film James Cameron has done since the original Terminator in 1984 is a classic, this one seems to be his forgotten one.
Make sure you watch the special edition and not the cut down theater version.
