Review of The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) by Tim S — 25 Dec 2010
Wonderfully engaging pseudo-horror classic. I should note that I fell in love with this film at Adam Rifkin's insistence. A pre-cursor to the modern "torture porn", it plays more like an early EC comic than a horror film, which I love.
It's also one of Vincent Price's finest performances and a very bizarre horror fantasy that will have you both disgusted and laughing at the same time.
