Review of The ABCs of Death (2013) by Gerald T — 31 Mar 2013
Out of 26 shorts, only 9 were good (to me). And oh, the bad ones were awful, but two of the good shorts are now on my list of best horror out there...
"L is for Libido" was absolutely sickening; it goes straight for the throat and never lets up. It was so sick in fact, that I don't want to watch it again, but I feel like I should (I said the same thing about Deadgirl and ended up watching numerous times).
"Y is for Youngbuck" was also damn twisted, but a little less graphic. I just loved it. Jason Eisener showed enough without showing too much, and his spot-on early eighties look is incredible. The best way for me to describe it would be to say this whole short feels like you're watching a scream. It FEELS like a scream, and looks like one, without one bit of dialogue or anything other than the rad track by Powerglove. I effin LOVED this short.
