The faded colors and atmosphere certainly added to the dismal tone of the movie. While I do appreciate the whole "completed circle" theme they were trying achieve, as well as the fact that the movie did build up the suspense quite well, the ending was a little too predictable and cliched to end the film on a satisfactory note.
