Review of The Abandoned (2006) by Tristan P — 30 May 2008
Easily one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. Like the incredibly overrated SILENT HILL, this borrows heavily from Fulci's THE BEYOND and CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD. Director Nacho Cerda (who made the vastly different but equally memorable AFTERMATH) creates an atmosphere of dread that builds steadily to the nightmarish climax.
One of the ten best horror films of the 21st century so far...
