Review of The Abandoned (2006) by Brice M — 06 Sep 2009
Nacho Cerda's attempt at a more "mainstream" film leaves viewers just a tad disappointed. Anyone familiar with his earlier fare would likely expect something much more visceral but Cerda seems to hold back slightly, going more for atmosphere than repulsion.
The film works but is a bit too predictable in parts. Still, it's better than what most Hollywood studios churn out but left me longing for Aftermath...
