Review of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958) by Sukey M — 12 Feb 2008
Perhaps this isn't really a five-star film. Perhaps this film is a little cheesy with a clean-shaven Sinbad played by Kerwin Matthews and an Arabic princess played by Bing Crosby's wife. BUT this may well be my favorite film of all time, my cinematic guilty-pleasure.
Sinbad, a genie, an evil wizard, a beautiful princess -- what more could a fantasy lover want? And, to top it off, the special effects are done by the legendary master of stop-animation, Ray Harryhausen! Lovers of computer-generated special effects may scoff, but I prefer films that don't look like video games.
