Review of The 6th Day (2000) by Thad K — 27 Feb 2009
Many people will think that this is your standard b action movie starring your now standard b movie actor. This is true. However, once you get into what the film is trying to portray to the audience, you begin to realize that a lot of thought went into the storyline.
Maybe not the dialogue, nor the action sequences, but what the film was trying to portend unto the audience about the philosophical and theological arguments and ramifications of cloning, the soul, and what makes us truly human.
If you want to see something that behind the action, corny dialogue and really listen to what the director and producers are trying to say, this is a great little film that probably no one has bothered to give a chance, or a second chance.
I would say watch it alongside bladerunner and see if you can spot some of the similar ideals that the director was trying to lay down for us, the enlightened audience.
