Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Jax B — 22 Mar 2008
When I was young my mother read me the novel by John Buchan. When I realized it was made into a movie I was very excited. I was not disappointed. I am unfamiliar with most of Hitchcock, but the unflagging optimism of the movie really impressed me.
The relationship that develops between the leads is adorable. A good spy story is a good spy story. The end did seem slightly abrupt however. Maybe I just didn't want it to end.
