Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Melanie B — 16 May 2008
This is one of my favourite Hitchcock movies..it was later reworked for the american market as North by Northwest with Cary Grant..as a consequence it is the Grant americanised version which is the more recognised.
Several versions exist including ones starring Kenneth Moore and Robert Powell, though the original is by far the better. It's a tragedy that leading actor Robert Donat died so young.
