Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Vova Z — 06 Aug 2008
A good Hitchcock film, although far from his best. Robert Donat does a memorable performance as the hero. The plot is interesting but doesn't offer much more than the usual spy conspiracy. Of course, there are some nice twists and action scenes, mixed with moments of comedy.
Overall, it's definitely worth watching, but is overshadowed by other Hitchcock films (especially North by Northwest, which bears a huge resemblance).
