The Greatest British Film ever made. In fact the greatest film ever made ANYWHERE. Unlike films made even 50 years later, The 39 Steps hasn't dated a bit. Critics and cynics will say why does Hannay do this, .
...or why doesn't Pamela do this,....Or why does Mr Memory divulge the secret at the end? Of course there are many implausabilities, but the superb acting, great dialogue, superb storyline and above all great pacing of the film dont give you time to think about this till the film is over.
