Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Ganesan K — 16 Sep 2009
Plenty of things to like about this one â?? Robert Donat is so suave as only a Brit can do it; Madeleine Carroll is such a dish - that scene where she's peeling off her stockings by the fire is still so sexxxy even though this movie was made waaay back in 1935! Memorable characters such as the mysterious female agent Smith and the poor farmer's wife who wishes she was somewhere far away from the Scottish Moors makes this one of Alfred Hitchcock's better movies during his early years before Hollywood.
