Review of The 33 (2015) by Kevin S — 11 Nov 2015
Maybe I went in to the theater with higher than normal expectations... Just like Titanic, most of us know how the story ends before it begins. And if you don't, I won't ruin it for you. I have several bones to pick with this movie.
Too many to name, but for one- I don't like that it was in English, although I understand why "Hollywood" would want to (or have to) do that. Also, if I was a popular Spanish-speaking actor from the past three decades and not cast in this movie, I would be disappointed- because everyone else was.
Lou Diamond Phillips all the way to that guy from The Office. Antonio Banderas and Rodrigo Santoro were by far the most talented in the bunch though. There were some good emotional moments, but overall it was long and a bit exhausting- much like being stuck in a mine.
