Review of The 33 (2015) by Ryan T — 09 Feb 2018
Sometimes compelling inspirational real life stories don't make great movies. The creators must have realized this but heavily overcompensated and turned a 90 minute tale into a 2 hour film that leaves the viewer feeling cheated of the truth, by adding humor and sentiment that too often distracted from the real grit of survival these men faced.
The unnecessarily added and untrue obstacles to create suspense, and poor whitewashed casting didn't help either.
