Review of The 33 (2015) by Ian G — 11 Feb 2016
Its cool that the story of the chillean miners was brought to the big screen since it captured a lot of national news attention at the time it happened, and also the filmmakers were able to bring in some latin/hispanic actors for a few of the parts which was great from the system with Lou Diamond Phillips leading the charge although seeing Juliet Binoche breaking out the Chilean accent was a bit of a stretch.
Also bit mixed although an interesting take of being a bit arty with some of the hallucinations that the miners went through while imprisoned yet when they were finally saved it seemed to be as if there was no ill physical effects etc although they had run out of food etc.
Bit of a Hollywood lens of things but brought across the human determination elements ok to overlook certain aspects. Ok for what it is.
