Review of The 300 Spartans (1962) by Alex K — 12 Mar 2008
Not as epic as Ben-Hur in the 60's epic department, but still a faithful retelling with many history-nerd-satisfying moments and a decent accuracy to Herodotus. Also interesting to hold in comparison to 300, but definitely not as action packed.
I would recommend it only if there is a serious interest in the ancient accounts, but be prepared for inaccuracies in fighting style and other details. Overall fun to pick apart.
